Rufolf Virchow

Now i will talk you about Rudolf Virchow, the creator of the celular theory of patology. Why this is so important? Well, this theory is one of the bases of the modern medicine paradigm with, for example, the microbiotical theory about deseases.

Virchow was born at 1821 in Schivelbein, Pusia. Studied medicine in the Beril University. He become main teacher of the anatopathology class in Würzburg University. He was too a Prusian parlamen member, there he built a remarcable politic carrer.

Virchow main improvement to medicine was the celular theory of pathology, which mean that everething that happens to the body have a celular cause, and a celular final effect, in Virchow words: "No importa cuántas vueltas le demos, al final siempre regresaremos a la célula." Which means, It doesn't matter how much we think about it, in the end we will always end up talking about cells.

The Virchow theory is still valid. Of course, now there is much more information available, like genetic knowledge, for example. These new insights are paving the way to make a more complete explanation to the Virchow theory, not refuting it.

The earth was moved

The earthquake of february was my second experience with this kind of phenomenon, but the first one in a ninth floor, i have to say that i felt much more movement in the department.

I wasn't afraid until i get notice that it was in fact an earthquake, i was convinced that it was a hard tremor. The first person i call was mas girlfriend, who live in a nineteenth floor (guess how hard was there) and she was the one who told me that we lived an earthquake, it dosen't mean i wasn't worried about my family, it only means that my family was in Ovalle, and my girlfriend was here in Santiago, it make sense now, don't?

After i make my call i get down of my department i started to ask the strength of the movement and the epicenter, that to know if my family was o not affected, at the same time i was trying to call them, but the cell phone line wasn't working. When i finally talk with my mom she told me that she was sleeping.

It was something like the 6 am when it went again to my department, but can't fell sleep until the 10 o something like that, so i was waiting watching the news and felling the replics.

Who's talking to you

Well my dear reader, here i'm Alex Alvarez writing in this blog for the CFG, like all of you. I'm a medicine student of seccond grade, i was born in Concepcion, but i come from Ovalle (is in the IV region).
I hope to write a nice blog, in the limits that the class give to us, i want to improve my writing in english skills too, after all that is why i took this CFG.
I make you an invitation to leave your message in my blog, ask any question you have about me and my publications, in my opinion that is the idea.
Let's make this journey of learning and to make us a bilingual person, and know each other a litle bit.
